  TelePCX vs. IP-PBXs

Quality and reliability are critical issues when implementing IP telephony. As an IP-enabled PBX, TelePCX provides companies with a more practical PBX solution than IP PBXs. The distinguishable difference between an IP PBX and TelePCX is that TelePCX uses IP to transport calls through the Internet between corporate sites while it relies on circuit-switched phone wiring for the final loop to desktop analog handsets. With TelePCX's Multi-Location PBX architecture, PBXs in different branch offices work as a single PBX and each branch having its own individual trunk lines for local communication. The integration of the Internet and PSTN not only solves the problem of voice fluctuation by reducing the LAN loads, but also saves a lot of money thru long distance call savings and there is no need to replace the existing analog handsets with IP handsets.

TelePCX is an all-in-one total solution with built-in AA/VM, and its open architecture is CT(Computer Telephony) applications development ready while most IP-PBXs need to integrate with an extra server when acquiring AA/VM or CT functionality.

  The Drawbacks of IP-PBXs

  • Requires QoS for the whole LAN/WAN infrastructure, may require heavy investment on LAN/WAN re-construction.
  • <Require more budget for system administration and maintenance to prevent traffic jamming on LAN/WAN.
  • Not Suitable for using INTERNET, instead of WAN, to communicate between different locations.
  • Still need to integrate AA/VM or CT server.
